Love it or hate just do it!

By Night

This would glow in the Dark. It's 4 am and I've got another 4 to go.
Hopefully get the remaining designs in on time.

Mount Followill and Saint Nacho

Description : Here we see Saint Nacho bewildering the band
by his omnipotent presence.

This is one of several collaborations between TreeForest Studios and I to come up with a t-shirt design for Kings of Leon contest. Just waiting on approval before the promoting machine works.

Whats this all about ? Nacho is kinda the 5th unofficial member of the band who gets a lot of bad teasing. Now he gets to be centre stage.

A By Night Version will shortly follow.

I want an Illustrator one!

Mmmm. I love der tie loveliness. Ich liebe!

Game Veteran's Rejoice

Found this on igant's blog.. How endearingly nerdy.

Secret Gems

Despite my affiliation with snails... I especially liked that secret.

HE IS HERE

OMG! I squealed when I saw Shao's email this morning telling me that Takashi Murakami is exhibiting in town til the 8th of April!

This guy was able to penetrate Louis Vuitton's bag designs with some of his illustrations in collaboration with fashion designer Marc Jacobs. If you like Warhol, Oldenberg and Roy Lichtenstein then this may be a nice visual treat for you. Most of his work surfaces consumerism and fetishism so beware of taking the kiddie winks with you.

Her Morning Elegance

This is superb! Very well choreographed.
The song is alright but hell the video owns the song.

Here's a song for anyone who's ever hated, In the key of Grrr...

This
is a cross between what I thought The Delgados would have done for their song 'All you need is hate' and Airside's Global Warming video.

Looks like this is where Airside got a lil inspiration from?

The Taxonomy of Thrill

Brendan Walker engineers thrilling experiences! Basically bringing artists, designers, scientists and engineers together to make unprecidented choreographed pant-weting installations and Rollercoaster rides that mess with your mind. His ideas were developed in Alton Towers and broadcasted on the Discovery Channel.

With a new ride at Thorpe Park, The Ride claims to offer the world's steepest freefall drop - a beyond-vertical 100-degree descent back under the ride's 100ft (30m) peak. LET'S GO!

Dopamine, Serotonin, Testosterone and Estrogen

Determine who you are attracted to, or at least shed some light on the subject. Who you are attracted to reflects the biology of brain as much as the heat of your heart. Anthropologist Helen Fisher put together a questionnaire to determine which category you fall into. Go to www.chemistry.com and find out how it relates.. (it's pretty accurate, my results are shown above).

Anteater Love

The other day I was googling my blog to see if it retained the top spot when you typed "Anteater Love". I found myself jousted by someone who has an Anteater as a pet! They are adorable. I think it was the ears that did it for me. Apparently they are very clever and cat-like. Enjoy!

Lego Phone

So Lego and Alcatel (they are still in business) teamed up to make a Lego phone for children. Priced at $20 - $60 making it affordable. I think this would be more popular with people who had a Lego fetish as kids. Suck on that IPhone.

Big Boy Genius has the exclusive on this one. :D

Cross-eyed Toilet

Well, if I had my parents in the bathroom cheering me on, I think I would be constantly constipated. Watch the video.
The ending is pretty special.

And this

Argentinian Menswear designer, Aitor Throup, based his collection on Hindu Gods.

Freakishly Lovely

Jin Young Yu (JYY): My works are about the “invisible people.” I wanted to talk about the stories of the people who said, “I definitely don’t know them, but they knew me so well. They said they worked with me for over a year. To me, that person was a transparent existence that neither did or didn’t exist.”

Interview by Arrested Motion

Who knew that using PVC could be so dramatic!

"They do it tastefully. It's all very clean."

I remember Alice telling me about this restaurant waaaay back in the day. This brings back such happy memories. Puts Hot-Pot in a very different light.

Hello Ladies

Meet Gavin. This is my Vector Illustration.
The Idea: Well this is of the cruel kind; basically what would Gavin do for £10? Almost anything.
The extent: He got dressed up in drag for free and now we are taking suggestions for obscene acts.

Vendor Bender !

Thanks for sending this in Showtime. The Human Vending Machine at Victoria station.

Meet Rabid Dog

So this was Saturday/Sunday night. My painting of a Dog.

Stalker's Embrace Technology

So, word on the wires is that RFID's are going to hit the TV Channels and Soaps.

What are RFID? Radio-frequency Identification

Why it matters : tags humans and animals, passports (e-passports), tracks promotional products.

Why it's going to be big: Just imagine you're watching TV and you see an outfit/product that you like, press a button on your remote and you can get information about the outfit you are interested in and place an order in real-time.

Not frothing at the mouth yet? How about this: you are at a fashion show and you like what you see, take a picture et voila, you get the designer, the price and the size and book the dress right then and there.

This raises the game for product placement and also could be a huge dent in the TV ads industry. This also gives stalkers the option to get lazy and sit at home whilst their subjects are out on the loose.

The Paper Cinema

Exploring the East End through a paper-puppet inspired play with live music. Ends Tuesday 10th of March.

I love Science

How brilliant is this?

It's really super to see that technology is catching up with our imagination. Thirty years after loosing his eyesight, he sees flashes of light after being fitted with a bionic eye.

Aspirations?

"My one ambition at the moment is to be able to go out on a nice, clear evening and be able to pick up the moon
"

Spring is just around the corner. Clear night skies await thee.

Bad, Bad Dinosaur

Tisk, tisk. Here's a lil gem from the horse's mouth:

Seeking a sexual tyrannosaur for a romp in the park - w4m

Date: 2008-10-12, 3:14PM PDT

You will growl mechanically into my ear and stare threateningly. I will feign panic and search for the flash light in the back seat of the visitor jeep. You will sniff at the window slowly and then release a robotic roar into the night air. I scream for Alan Grant, but your over sized robot jaws come crashing down through the overhead window, pinning me to the floor.

I cannot stress this enough however, you must play as a ROBOTIC dinosaur. This is very specific, my interest lie entirely in animatronic dinosaurs, not real ones.

Correct me if I am wrong

The 99 is a huge hit back home. Backed by the creative forces of Fabian Nicieza (X-Men) and Stuart Moore (Wolverine) and Dr. Naif Al-Mutawa.

The concept of the comic is based on the 99 attributes of Allah, Many of these names refer to characteristics that can be possessed by human individuals. For example – generosity, strength, faithfulness, wisdom are all virtues encouraged by a number of faiths.

I personally find the concept refreshing and daring, I would have easily perked up my ears if Islamic studies incorporated some form of creativity at school. I'm just wondering.. if all the superheros came together and all their good attributes were infused wouldn't they in theory make God? or all their negative attributes made Super Satan? Surely that would have popped up at some point.

Thoughtss..??

Flight patterns are Pretty

This is for the boys in the Aero Department at Imperial. Data from the U.S. Federal aviation administration processed to create animations of flight traffic patterns and density done by Aaron Koblin.

Geeking out to 100's Minutes

I got invited to attend Secret Wars, a graffiti competition between Monorex and Intercity at Havana Club somewhere around Shoreditch. They had 100 minutes to paint and ink their ideas on a huge wall. My bet was on Intercity to win (they ended up throwing red paintballs that not only sprayed the walls but also the crowd closest to the boards, awesome) but alas 90's graffiti made it's way back to claim the winning vote. Meh.

Crowd Sourcing

M.I.T students came together to form this online project called : IdeasScale

The concept behind this a collective insight on an Idea rather than an individualistic one. How does it work? Well you submit your idea, people from across the globe add to it, criticize it and potentially make it grow into super idea. From there businesses can identify where to improve and ideas that can help them make that change..

Basically you have this living specimen that modifies your idea on a daily basis. This is a blessing for marketers everywhere!!

Khatt : Arabic Typography

Above is the artwork of a budding graphic designer and calligrapher, Farah Behbehani who won a Khatt competition and got her design printed as wall vinyls!

Many have butchered Arabic type {myself included}, Arabic typography is one of the most beautiful and complicated type faces to work with. For some stellar examples click here.

Wottsit called?

Leave it to Urban Decay to call their eye shadow, Asphyxia.

Albino Dolphin!

For any frequenters of Harmony, this was only seen on .. 'toys'. A Pink mother flipping dolphin!
Hopefully when people start spear hunting the poor thing it will swim towards a whirlpool and resurface as pink sushi. YAY!

Rub my Hand

When I was younger I used to believe that God and Satan were like Mr. Willy-Wonka and Mr. Slugworth. That they were really working together to see who was honest and I thought that if I told anyone, and exposed God's plan, that I would be blamed for blasphemy.

When I was younger, I stole my classmate's swissrolls and ate them as I sat on them. True Story.

Nakba: The Return of the Soul

This is Jane Frere's Installation, Nakba.

The project was devised as a means of exploring the historic events of 1948 when 750,000 Palestinians were driven into exile to become the longest suffering refugee population, whose numbers have grown to 4.5 million. The installation, Return of the Soul, was conceived as a means to extend the artist’s work to involve Palestinians themselves in the process of creating the components of a sculpture and multi-media artwork that addresses displacement, and offers an expression of their collective sense of injustice and loss, as well as asserting their right to a national heritage.

Suspended wax figures
Over seven thousand wire, paper, wax figures are suspended in the air on a raked angle across the space. Spectators are able to walk around the installation and at a certain point to pass underneath.

Hanging testimonies
Three-meter long scrolls of paper bearing the imprint of personal testimonies relating to the moment of exile are suspended vertically between handing Perspex strips, creating a “forest” of words. The testimonies are installed in a separate space complementing the figures and bear witness to the identities representing those forced to flee from their homeland in 1948.

Sound Installation
Fragmented layered voices, edited from a series of filmed interviews conducted by the artist, are played in the space surrounding the hanging testimonies.
